Room 3, based in the outskirts of Brighton, create poppy, catchy songs then distort them with elements of post-punk, noise-rock and jazz. Blending feedback drenched guitars and wailing synth lines with anthemic choruses. Formed in 2022, it’s this kind of contradiction that defines most of Room 3’s work, creating a mix of influences, sounds and ideas. The outcome is something truly unique.
“A sort of aimlessness, I think, characterises our songs.” says frontman Danny Rolph “Not an unconstructive aimlessness but the fact that we could quite possibly do whatever we want.” Room 3 are influenced by a range of artist such as Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Aphex Twin and Nala Sinephro – to name a few. It’s this wide ranging blend of influences that make Room 3 who they are, even if they’re not quite sure who they are yet.

“The band are one of the tightest I’ve worked with for a long time, and the tracks have a good balance of rawness to production, and precision to chaos, which demands your attention when you put them on.” – Sam Coveney, Small Pond Recordings
“Feedback-laden guitars set the stage for pounding bass lines that feel like live wires running straight to your head. Their tracks build in intensity, layering anger upon anger until the vocals spit right in your face. There’s something very Joe Talbot-esque in those vocals—raw and unapologetic. Their songs are pure post-punk gold.” – The Scene
